Alex Gow Funerals proudly marks over 30 years of dedicated service to the Redlands community, having been the first family-owned funeral company to establish a presence in the area with the opening of their Cleveland office in 1994.
In 2013, with a long-term vision in mind, we acquired 26 acres at 156 Woodlands Drive, Thornlands. Our vision was always to create a tranquil and modern space for farewell and remembrance. Whilst construction began in August 2022, we are excited to announce that our new full-service funeral facility is now open.

This thoughtfully designed space features a 140-seat, light-filled chapel with full audio-visual capability, overlooking stunning views of Moreton Bay and North Stradbroke Island. Additional features include overflow areas for larger services, a catered refreshment lounge, private arrangement rooms, a peaceful viewing room, and a state-of-the-art cremator with the latest emission-reduction technology. For those who for cultural reasons wish to witness the start of the cremation process, there is a purpose-built viewing lounge ensuring comfort and privacy.
Our Contemplation Court allows ashes to be respectfully placed in a temporary niche within 24 hours, offering families the chance to visit soon after the cremation. In 2026, development will begin on expansive memorial gardens, which will eventually span much of the 26-acre site—providing a lasting and serene space for remembrance.
Our Redlands manager, Erika Pawlenko, is looking forward to showing locals through the facility and demonstrating how Alex Gow Funerals continues to honour its legacy with a deep commitment to care, compassion, and community.
